Patricks' very successful 2003 included the prestigious Kedumba Drawing Exhibition, being invited as a finalist in the Hutchins Award, Tasmania, and again being awarded a residency in the Arthur Boyd studio at Bundanon. Following on, this exhibition is of a combination of works on paper, including drawing, mixed medium and watercolours through to large canvases. From his former works and more objective studies to the recent developments and deeper observations of the Australian Landscape, it is evident that Patricks' love of the subject is becoming more enveloping. The resultant recordings on paper and canvas are a direct meditative response to his surrounds. This collection of work is stimulated from his recent sojourn at the studio of Arthur Boyd, and the surrounding Shoalhaven property, Bundanon. While some of Patrick's images may be narrative in content they expose a deeper sense of place.

Daphne's Garden

Untitled, Ink & Pastel on Paper, 31 x 25cm

One of the younger members of the next generation of Australians leading artistic dynasty – an artist of exceptional sensitivity. This series of new paintings is an exploration of the conflicts of self in relation to nature and environment. The search for understanding ourselves in a world of turmoil, reflects the need to resolve inner conflict. We are drawn towards the light of understanding – a never ending quest.
