Celia Perceval

The Australian Coastal Bush - paintings and ceramics

4th - 30th September

Black Cockatoos at Green Cape, Oil on Canvas, 61 x 82cm

Celia lives and paints in a relatively isolated area on the south coast of NSW and is well-known for her heavily textured and expressive paintings of the Australian bush. She has focused on the coastal bush-land for her paintings in this exhibition, which will be exhibited alongside large-scale ceramic display platters and bowls. Celia 's hand-thrown, hand-decorated and glazed ceramics all reflect the earthy essence of her sought after paintings.

Celia is a member of the famous Perceval / Boyd art dynasty, being the daughter of Lady Mary Nolan (nee Boyd) and the late John Perceval. She held her first exhibition in 1966 when she was just 16 and has been continuously painting and exhibiting ever since. Celia is an extremely highly regarded Australian artist and her work is of great interest to collectors.
