'Sydney' is an exhibition inspired by the city's complexity and variety as an ever changing source of subject matter. Patrick Carroll's comprehensive collection of work in this show is based on his studies and research over 30 years in Sydney's city, harbour, industry and people.
The intimacy and complexity of this beautiful city from the harbour foreshores to the suburban sprawl is explored in this exhibition consisting of a series of 30 major works painted in oil and acrylic.
'Luna Park is Yellow', Patrick's exhibition held at Manly Art Gallery and Museum in October, 2002 was a precursor to his 'Sydney' show and generated an enormous audience.
Patrick moved to Sydney in 1968 from Bathurst, NSW and began his career as an artist in 1973. For the past 30 years his paintings have captured the heart and soul of his surrounding landscape, consistently returning to Sydney for his subject matter and inspiration.
