SUSAN SHERIDAN
Coastline
Davey River Kingfisher acrylic on canvas 96 x 138cm
Susan Sheridan's recent work is based on her circumnavigation of the coast of Tasmania on a traditional wooden fishing trawler in early 2011. These lively compositions tell a story about the moods of the sea during strong gales and calmer weather, and the visual spectacles of rock formations and winding coastal rivers and inlets.
The exhibition Coastline captures the wild beauty of Tasmania's waterways; it also examines the shimmering nature of light as it refracts and splits into streams of colour. Through sensitively observing and responding to her environment, first in quick sketches and photographs, Sheridan’s acrylics provide a sensual journey through an ever-changing terrain.

CHARLOTTE BOYD
Youth
 SOLD Boy Holding Dog glazed ceramic 24.6 x 18.6 x 8cm
Charlotte Boyd's sculptures are particularly charming for their juxtaposition between carefully crafted forms and fluid, playful poses capturing the figure in action.
Boyd was initially trained by her father, celebrated sculptor Guy Boyd, a member of the Boyd family dynasty. She soon became an artist in her own right, working in bronze and around the subject of her love for dance and gymnastics.
Inspiration for the exhibition Youth is drawn from her own family life and relationships. Her recent work in ceramic is highly expressive and brings to life the energetic world of children at play.
“I am particularly drawn to making sculptures which show all the dimensions and physical angles of the figure in action…Again and again I find myself drawn to expressing the intimate moments of contented family life.”
