Wagner Art Gallery is proud to present the first solo exhibition by emerging artist Boyd Sanday. It is easy to be engaged by Sanday's petite paintings. These extremely appealing and intimate landscapes draw the viewer close so that they can be read, as one reads a book of thoughts.

Mountains in the Sky engages the viewer on a mindful rather than a physical level. These lake images convey the impression of relief, a respite from a hectic modern life where there is a notion of largess and that bigger is better.

With a palette of ashen silver and smoky greys, these small paintings are highly sensitive. The scraped, textured surface indicates time and history and the soft light exude gentleness. Sanday successfully combines all these elements to construct his ethereal vignettes.

The Kimberley Coast has long been a source of inspiration to artists and for Susan Sheridan, the absolute wilderness of this remote region is the subject of her new exhibition. The mesmerising radiance of the submerged coral reefs through the water and the extraordinary colours of aquas, rich reds and crisp whites of the silica beaches are the focus of Susan Sheridans loose style.
