King Parrot at Sunset, Oil on Canvas, 67 x 91cm
Celia Perceval's recent paintings focus on the coastal bushland where she expresses the unique Australian wilderness conveying the intricate relationship between colour, light, texture and the untamed bushland. Celia chooses not to work in the studio but deep in the heart of her subject and she believes this is the only way to capture the true atmosphere of a particular place and time. She has tremendous feel for the delicate nature of the Australian Bush and executes this in a competent and confident manner. Her work is heavily textured yet delicate in technique.
