David Preston

David Preston has been painting since 1974. He studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, becoming a superb draughtsman. He established the Etchers Press, and is renowned for his lino-cut and wood-block limited edition prints.

David’s paintings have been inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, reflecting their enigmatic tonality which is achieved through a minimal palette. Inspired by the beauty of nature, David also depicts exotic gardens and intimate flowers in a romantic impressionist style.

John Rigby

John Rigby was born in Brisbane in 1922. He is a widely respected artist, having served as a Trustee for the Queensland Art Gallery for eighteen years, and his paintings are in all major Australian galleries. He awarded the Italian Government painting Prize in 1956, and was honoured with an Hon. PhD. from Griffith University, Queensland, in 1994.

Inspired by Fauve colour, John Rigby’s work is a bold and vibrant evocation of the landscape and urban environment. His subjects include the rainforests and palm fringed beaches of far North Queensland, the barren interior, the spectacular Ranges and the architectural wonders of urban life.

Susan Sheridan

Susan Sheridan has been exhibiting since 1972. Selected for the Wynne Prize seven times, Susan has also won the art prizes at Mosman, Bowral, Scone and the Royal Easter Show. She is represented in numerous private, corporate and university collections as well as regional galleries.

Known primarily as a landscape and still life painter, Susan works on both paper and canvas. Her paintings are emotional responses to the moods of the Australian landscape.
