About Christine Young

I have painted all my life, it is just part of me.

I enjoy studying in detail the subjects I paint, trying to represent a true reflection of the subject, and showing the beauty in the detail of its texture, form, colour and movement.

I hope my paintings inspire a sense of restfulness with a clean uncluttered style.

I was born on the island of Tobago in the West Indies and immigrated to Australia at 17 years old. I attended art school in Randwick Technical College NSW and established a career as a graphic designer while painting for commissions and private collections.

I have lived in Cairns for 37 years with my husband family.
